Sisk has promoted two long-serving engineers to managing director level, naming Brian Comaskey to lead its Ireland East business unit and Diarmuid O’Sullivan to head a newly established Energy Business Unit. The moves put internal talent in charge of Dublin delivery and of a dedicated energy unit in a sector where Sisk has delivered more than €1 billion.
Comaskey joined Sisk in 2004 as an engineer on Dublin city centre residential and commercial projects, then progressed to contracts manager and project director before becoming regional director in 2022. He reports to Steven McGee, Chief Operating Officer of the Sisk Construction division.
O’Sullivan joined in 1992 as a graduate engineer, became Director for Ireland and Europe in 2020 and previously led Sisk’s data centre business, helping to build its capability in Ireland and across Europe. He reports to Leo Martin, COO of the Sisk Infrastructure division.
The Energy Business Unit sits within the Sisk Infrastructure division and will work with the senior teams in each division and with subsidiaries Farrans and Sensori, alongside design and supply chain partners, to draw on the group’s breadth of capability and geographic reach.
Sisk’s parent, Sicon, reported 2025 turnover of €2.624 billion and an advance order book of €7.2 billion. The Cork-founded group employs around 3,000 people.
Brian Comaskey, Managing Director, Ireland East, said: “Having spent 22 years with Sisk, I can see great opportunity for us to grow and develop further in the residential and commercial space in Dublin and play a key role in the overall company strategy in healthcare, energy and infrastructure.”
Diarmuid O’Sullivan, Managing Director, Energy, said: “The energy transition represents a significant long-term opportunity for Sisk, and I believe we have all the experience and capability needed to become a leading delivery partner for these vital projects.”
The structural driver is the energy transition, which Sisk is treating as a long-term opportunity by setting up a dedicated unit to re-establish and grow its presence in the sector.
Sisk CEO Paul Brown said: “Both have been with the company for many years and have worked their respective way up the ranks.” Brown added that both “will play a key part in helping us deliver on our growth strategy.”
For the sector, the appointments pair Dublin delivery experience with data centre and mission critical programme experience at the top of two Sisk units.
