Dr Brian Deegan, Lecturer and Researcher in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Galway, joins the judging panel for the Engineering Excellence Awards 2026, bringing expertise in autonomous vehicle imaging systems, machine vision, and biomedical engineering developed across a decade at Valeo Vision Systems and a PhD from NUI Galway. A holder of multiple patents and a recognised specialist in HDR imaging and image quality, Deegan contributes both industrial and academic depth to the evaluation of entries across the awards programme.
