H&MV Engineering, an Ireland-headquartered specialist in high-voltage electrical engineering, has completed the acquisition of Cooke Power Services, a Texas-based power infrastructure provider. The strategic move strengthens H&MV’s presence in the U.S., particularly across data centres, renewables, and utility sectors.

Founded in Limerick, Ireland, H&MV Engineering has grown into a multinational firm with operations spanning the U.S., EMEA, and Asia. The company manages over 14 GW of high-voltage projects in design and construction, serving major global data centre and energy developers, and employs more than 1,600 people worldwide, with annualised revenues exceeding $1 billion (€930m).

The acquisition complements H&MV’s U.S. portfolio, where it is actively engaged in projects ranging from 138 kV to 345 kV. Cooke Power Services, headquartered in Amarillo, Texas, will retain its local leadership and workforce, ensuring continuity for existing clients while leveraging H&MV’s global engineering and project delivery expertise.

“This acquisition is key to our continued expansion strategy in the U.S.,” said PJ Flanagan, CEO of H&MV Engineering. “Cooke Power Services brings deep local expertise, a strong reputation, and a shared commitment to safety, quality, and innovation. Together, we are well-positioned to deliver world-class engineering solutions across the U.S. market.”

The deal also forms part of a broader strategic focus on growth in high-demand areas such as data centres and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). H&MV is investing in long-term U.S. operations, combining its global design, procurement, and construction capabilities with Cooke Power Services’ local market knowledge to provide scalable, sustainable solutions.

Paul Cooke, CEO of Cooke Power Services, added: “This partnership opens new opportunities for our team and our clients, and we look forward to playing a central role in H&MV's U.S. operations.”
