Belfast renewable energy and engineering company Everun is to share in a £102.9 million (approximately €122 million) package of onshore wind operations and maintenance contracts awarded by ScottishPower Renewables across 24 projects in the UK, according to the Irish News, extending a partnership that has been in place for five years.

ScottishPower Renewables awarded the five-year O&M contracts to four companies, with three of the four, including Everun, extending existing relationships with the energy company. The new contracts will see Everun add three new sites covering 97 wind turbine generators and 15 staff directly supporting its Scotland operations, building on the five ScottishPower Renewables sites in Northern Ireland and Ireland already under its management.

Everun, which specialises in wind turbine operations, solar solutions, EV charging infrastructure and industrial energy efficiency systems, secured major works contracts for a number of ScottishPower Renewables sites in Scotland in 2024 and has since established facilities in Glasgow with a dedicated team. The new contract package represents a further expansion of its Scottish footprint.

Everun managing director Michael Thompson said: "Our partnership with SPR has been built over a number of years, setting clear objectives for continuous improvement via investment in staff and infrastructure. We are delighted to be expanding our operations and look forward to delivering consistent services for SPR into the future."

ScottishPower Renewables currently operates more than 40 wind farm sites generating over 3 GW of renewable energy. It is part of Iberdrola, which operates more than 39 GW of renewable projects globally and holds a pipeline of 100 GW of renewable capacity.

The contracts are expected to create a number of engineering jobs and deliver economic benefits to regional communities across the UK as the onshore wind sector continues to expand.
