ERC backs Irish innovation with AI conflict prediction and 3D bioprinting breakthroughs
Trinity College Dublin and University of Galway have secured European Research Council Proof of Concept grants worth €150,000 each, spotlighting Ireland’s growing impact in translating research into real-world solutions.
Trinity’s AI for Conflict Analysis and Prediction (AICAP) project, led by Prof Thomas Chadefaux, aims to forecast global conflict patterns using machine learning. Meanwhile, Galway’s VisionPrint project, led by Dr Andrew Daly, is set to enhance quality control in 3D bioprinting using light sheet microscopy—paving the way for more accurate clinical-grade tissue constructs.
