The Engineering Excellence Awards has announced its 2026 shortlist, naming finalists across 22 categories ahead of the awards ceremony on 21 October 2026 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry, where winners will be announced before hundreds of senior executives and professionals from Ireland's engineering community.

The shortlist reflects the breadth of Ireland's engineering sector, with finalists recognised across engineering firms, civil, mechanical, electrical and environmental engineering, manufacturing, renewable energy, technology, health and safety, operational excellence and people development. Organisations and projects represented include ACS, ESB, AECOM, Stryker, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, Iarnród Éireann, Kirby Group Engineering, Powercomm Group, IN2 Engineering and Copper Coast Renewables.

The programme also recognises emerging talent and the development of the engineering workforce, with categories covering Rising Star in Engineering, Women in Engineering, graduate training, apprenticeships, diversity, equality and inclusion, and engineering teams. Project categories include Software and Electrical Engineering Project of the Year, Mechanical Engineering Project of the Year, Civil Engineering Project of the Year, Manufacturing Engineering Project of the Year and Renewable Energy Engineering Project of the Year.

The finalists were selected through an independent judging process led by Matt Cotterell, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Munster Technological University, who serves as Judging Coordinator. The panel brings together recognised figures from academia, engineering, construction, manufacturing, environmental management, biomedical engineering and business, including representatives from Trinity College Dublin, University of Galway, Element Six, University of Limerick, Gas Networks Ireland, Mott MacDonald Ireland and Ulster University.

The awards are supported by Gold Sponsors Powercomm Group and Eland Cables, with Amárach Research as Supporter and The Irish Times as Communications Partner. Powercomm Group provides medium and high-voltage engineering solutions, while Eland Cables supplies power, control and instrumentation cables and technical services to industry.

The Engineering Excellence Awards recognise innovative individuals, companies and projects contributing to excellence across Ireland's engineering industry. The 2026 programme spans engineering innovation, sustainability, infrastructure, manufacturing, renewable energy, project delivery and engineering leadership.
