Irish specialist electrical contractor DECO Engineering has appointed Maurice Mortell as non-executive director, bolstering its board as the Navan, Co. Meath-headquartered firm pursues an ambitious five-year growth strategy across European critical infrastructure markets.

Mortell brings over 25 years of experience in the data centre and digital infrastructure sector spanning strategy, organisational development, market expansion and sustainability. His previous roles include CEO of Data Electronics Group, VP of Emerging Markets at Telecity Group, and Country Manager for Ireland at Equinix. He currently chairs Digital Infrastructure Ireland and serves on the boards of several businesses.

DECO Engineering, which also operates from Magherafelt, has established a strong position as a specialist electrical contractor in the data centre sector, delivering mission-critical infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Italy and Spain.

The appointment follows the formalisation of a five-year growth plan anchored on its current €20 million annual turnover. The company has secured over €75 million in project work for delivery within the next 24 months.
